PAUS - Trailer cranes in the club of thousands

Lift technology

Hermann Paus Maschinenfabrik has proudly handed over the 1,000th trailer crane, a PTK 31, to crane rental company Sebastian Birk.

With the completion of the crane, Hermann Paus Maschinenfabrik can continue its success story in the field of lift technology. Already a few years ago, the 1,000 elevator from the Easy series was built. The products of Paus in the field of lift technology convince by a solid construction, an easy handling and the universal application possibilities.

Sebastian Birk has already been using the first trailer crane from Paus since 2018 and has thus been on the test bench for several years. When it came time to invest in a second crane to expand the crane rental capacity, the decision for a new crane from Paus was quickly made. "The playfully easy handling of the PTK 31, but also the price-performance ratio simply convinced us to invest in another crane from Hermann Paus Maschinenfabrik," says Sebastian Birk from Kaminbau-Birk GmbH.

The PTK 31 from Paus is versatile. Even though it was originally designed especially for roofers and carpenters with a payload of up to 1,600 kg and a max. extension length of 31 m, it is also becoming increasingly popular in other trades. The crane convinces in daily use by its comfortable handling, but also by its compact design and the unique automatic outrigger. Four individually folding and telescoping outriggers enable the crane to be set up on narrow and uneven ground. The set-up itself is simplified by the automatic self-leveling feature. The drawbar can be pushed in without tools, and maneuvering the crane is also made easier by the lowerable rear axle.
With a trailer load of 3.5 t, the PTK 31 can be easily transported with a class BE driver's license. In addition, the crane has a narrow design of 1.99 meters, which is unique on the market. This separates it from comparable trailer cranes by around 35 cm, which clearly sets it apart from the competition in confined spaces.

The product range development of lift technology at Paus
Meanwhile, almost 20 years ago, Paus had decided to extend its product range in the field of lift technology. In addition to elevators and aerial work platforms, trailer cranes were newly included in the product range. The PTK 30 was the first trailer crane in the range. In 2011, the PTK 31, the further development of the PTK 30, was presented to the market.
In 2014, the PTK 25 followed, which was replaced by the PTK 27 in 2017. This smaller version in the Paus range is equipped with a patented foldable drawbar, which again reduces the footprint to a minimum.

Paus aluminum trailer cranes: built in Emsland, Lower Saxony, at home in the world.
