PAUS UNI 50-5 - Universal mining vehicle with front axle suspension

Highlights

The UNI 50-5 BM-TM is a concrete mixer optimized for underground mining operations, based on the proven UNI 50. The UNI 50-5 with e.g. 7.5 m 3 drum, is the ideal mixer for small to medium sized diameters in mining and tunneling. The standard use in this class is of course the concrete mixer, but as with the Uni 50-2 to -4 series, the Uni 50 is a multi-talent with many configuration options: as a fixed superstructure or with a hydraulic interchangeable system, a large number of different cassettes can be set up. A whole range of solutions is available for roadway maintenance, personnel transport, explosives loading (ANFO and emulsion), scissor lift, service unit or liquid transport (water, oils and/or diesel) as well as many more. The spacious driver's cab offers room for three passengers.

The suspension

The PAUS MinCa suspension system, which has already proven itself many times over in mines, is used. It consists of coil springs, shock absorbers and trailing arms and wishbones. All of them are made of materials that can resist underground mining for a long time. Loaded or empty, the front axle suspension gives the UNI 50-5 BM-TM ideal ground contact - even at high speeds on poor road surfaces.

More power

Paus delivers the UNI 50-5 with an engine power of up to 173 kW e.g. with Deutz or Mercedes Benz engines and further engine variants on request ex works Emsbüren. Long distances, also with up to 35% gradient, to the operating site and back again manages the vehicle with installed APC transmission control (automatic gear shift) smoothly. The concrete mixer with a total weight of 32 tons can be optionally equipped with Stage V engines. These engines have lower emissions and thus contribute to reduced ventilation requirements in the mine. The basic configuration and the improved cooling concept are designed for operation in the environmental temperature range from -20°C to +40°C.

Safety

The vehicle system, which is designed to operate in mines, includes integrated fire protection solutions, hydraulics that mainly use pipes and only a few flexible hoses, an interference-resistant electrical system and material thicknesses that are designed for demanding operating conditions and high corrosion, heat and water resistance. The standard safety package such as ROPS/FOPS cab, SAHR parking brake or LED lighting are included. Optionally, many other components, HRD fire extinguishing systems, tire pressure control system, video system, gas warning system, etc. are available

Maintenance friendly

A maintenance check of the vehicle is immediately performed at the start of the work operation when the engine is started. Any deviations from the target states for engine/hydraulic oil or cooling agent are clearly shown on the displays in the comfort cab. All maintenance points can be reached safely from a standing position or via non-slip treads. Refueling is done from the ground.
